Class quizzes
Dogl makes it easy to have students do quizzes, whether it be for pre-class warmup, an in-class temperature check, an assignment for credit, or anything else.
Quizzes can either be done as part of a class or not. If you associate a quiz with a class, then you can see how each individual student in the class did on the quiz, via the class's gradebook. Below are instructions on associating a quiz with a class.
Associating a quiz with a class
To associate a quiz with a class, visit the class overview by clicking on the class on the Classes page. If you expand the Quizzes associated with this class
section, you'll see a list of available quizzes.
To associate a quiz with the class, check the corresponding checkbox.
Note
You need to click the Save selection button for your choices to be saved. Without saving, your selection will change what's currently being shown in the gradebook, but will not be remembered.
Restricting quiz access
You can restrict access to a class quiz to only be available to students in the class. To do this, click the padlock symbol next to the quiz name.
Note
You need to click the Save selection button for your choices to be saved.
An unlocked padlock means unrestricted access, meaning that even students not registered for your class can take the quiz, as long as they have the quiz join code/link. This can be useful if you expect the student to register later, for example – their result will still be recorded and show up in the gradebook even if they register after taking the quiz.
Gradebook
The class gradebook shows each student's score on each of the quizzes associated with the class. To view a class's gradebook, visit the class overview by clicking on the class on the Classes page. The gradebook can be expanded towards the bottom of the page.
A blank entry means the student has not yet taken part in the quiz.
Exporting results
You can export the data in the gradebook as a CSV file, using the Export all as CSV button. In addition to the student results, the CSV file contains a row containing the maximum possible score for each quiz.
